CHICAGO- The UIC men's basketball team begins a grueling stretch of six Horizon League road games among its next eight contests this Thursday night (Jan. 8) against Youngstown State.

The Flames (8-5, 1-2 Horizon League) and the Penguins (4-9, 1-3 Horizon League) square off inside the Beeghly Center in Youngstown, Ohio beginning at 6:35 p.m. Central. The game will air live on 560 AM WIND, with Adam Levinson and UIC great Kenny Williams donning the headsets to call the action.

Fans can also view the game on the Horizon League Network.

UIC will seek to snap a two-game losing skid while picking up their fifth road win of the year. Last season the Flames didn't get their fifth road victory until Feb. 23.

Senior guard Josh Mayo continues to pace all Horizon League players in scoring with a conference-best 19.5 ppg.

Topping the league in rebounding and blocked shots is senior center Scott VanderMeer, who is averaging 9.0 rpg and 2.7 bpg to go with 13.4 ppg, the eighth-best scoring output among league players.

Thursday's game will be followed by a trip to Cleveland, Ohio, as the Flames face preseason league favorite Cleveland State on Saturday night. That game will also air live on WIND 560 AM.
