    Chicago, Ill. - UIC left no doubt on Thursday night as the Flames, behind a game-high 16 points from sophomore forward Jovan Stefanov, rebounded from Tuesday's loss to Division II UW-Parkside with a 80-47 non-conference victory over Saginaw Valley State at the UIC Pavilion.

    The Flames, who snapped a three-game losing streak, also received 15 points apiece from Cedrick Banks and Justin Bowen, who chipped in a career-high, 11 rebounds.

    With the victory, UIC improves to 4-6 on the campaign, while the Cardinals drop to 5-6 overall.

    For the game, UIC shot a season-best 54.0% (27-for-50) and dominated the glass, claiming 41 caroms to Saginaw Valley State's 21.

    Kenneth Nether topped Saginaw Valley State with 15 points, while teammate Sydney McDaniel added 14 points in defeat.

    UIC will be back in action on December 30th, as they will travel to Michigan to square off with Detroit for a Horizon League tilt at 6:00 p.m. (CST).
