Evansville, Ind.- UIC's Cedrick Banks scored 24 of his game-high 26 points in the second half, leading the Flames to a 70-54 victory on the road versus Evansville on Friday night at Roberts Stadium.

Senior Aaron Carr chipped in with 16 points for UIC (3-1) while freshman Elliott Poole collected his first collegiate double-double with season bests of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Flames trailed the Purple Aces (0-1) 28-25 at the half, struggling to find their shooting touch in the opening stanza. UIC shot just 33% from the field in the opening frame, including a 1-for-11 clip from three-point range.

The second half was a different story, though, as behind a red-hot Banks, who was 9-for-11 from the field and 4-for-4 from three-point range in the frame, the Flames posted a 65% field goal percentage.

UIC trailed 38-36 with 14:20 left in the game when Banks took over, going on a personal 12-0 run over the next 1:40 to give the Flames a 10-point lead they would never relinquish.

Deywane Lee paced Evansville with 14 points.

These two teams will conclude their home-and-home, back-to-back, non-conference series on Tuesday, November 25, when they meet at the UIC Pavilion at 7:00 p.m.
