    Chicago, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago forward Justin Bowen posted a double-double of 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting, including 12 rebounds to help the host Flames cruise to the 75-45 victory over St. Edward's in the exhibition finale at the UIC Pavilion on Tuesday night.

    Bowen was one of four UIC players in double-figures on the evening, including Cedrick Banks (15 points), Elliott Poole (12 points) and Jovan Stefanov (11 points).

    The Flames stormed out to an early 27-8 lead, behind 11 points from Banks, and never looked back in the contest.

    UIC turned in an impressive defensive effort, forcing 19 turnovers on the evening, and scoring 29 points off the Hilltoppers' miscues.

    St. Edward's forward Sean Cole led the Hilltoppers with nine points and 10 rebounds, followed by Chris Smith (7 points).

    The Flames will open the regular season on Monday evening, as they will host 2004 NCAA Tournament runner-up, Georgia Tech, at 7:00 p.m. in the UIC Pavilion.
