Chicago, Ill. - All it took was a flip of the switch for the University of Illinois at Chicago men's basketball team.

With the score tied at 52 with 7:22 left in the second half, the Flames went on a 22-9 run, led by nine points each from senior guard Cedrick Banks and sophomore forward Jovan Stefanov, to lift UIC to the 74-61 victory over Robert Morris in their exhibition opener at the UIC Pavilion on Wednesday night.

Banks finished with a game-high 24 points, including five treys, while Stefanov tallied a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

The Flames also received solid performances from junior forward Justin Bowen (14 points, 7 rebounds) and sophomore point guard Marcetteaus McGee (9 assists).

For the game, UIC shot 48.3% (28-for-58) from the field, including a blistering 55.2% (16-for-29) in the second-half.

Heading into halftime, UIC took a 34-30 lead over the Eagles and extended their advantage to 40-30 to open the second half, behind six points from Banks.

Robert Morris answered with a 22-10 run of their own, behind seven points from Terrance McLemore (17 points), giving the Eagles the 52-50 lead over the Flames.

That proved to be the last lead that Robert Morris would own as sophomore forward Elliott Poole (8 points) knocked down a 10-foot jumper that sparked the 22-9 game-winning run.

Robert Morris also received solid efforts from both Aaron Wellington (15 points) and Keith Archie (12 points).

UIC will be back in action on Tuesday, November 16th, as they will welcome St. Edward's for their final exhibition contest of the season at 7:00 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion.
