INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Cedrick Banks scored 22 points, all in regulation, and Armond Williams added four of his 17 points in overtime as Illinois-Chicago held off Butler 74-71 on Saturday.

The Flames (15-7, 6-4 Horizon League) led by 11 points with under six minutes to go and by seven points with just over a minute remaining in regulation. Butler (8-11, 4-6) then got 3-pointers by Avery Sheets, Mike Monserez and Jamie Smalligan, sending the game into overtime tied at 64.

There were three more ties in the extra period, the last at 71 on a basket by Butler's Duane Lightfoot with just over two minutes to go. Williams, Justin Bowen and Martell Bailey each hit one of two free throw attempts for UIC to finish the scoring.

The victory snapped the Flames' 10-game losing streak to Butler.

Bailey finished with 13 points and 11 assists and Joe Scott added 10 points for UIC. Sheets led Butler with 19 points, while Lightfoot added 14 and Bruce Horan had 12. The Bulldogs outscored the Flames by 11 points from the field but lost the game at the free throw line, where they were outscored 19-5.
