2000-01 Highlights: As a junior, he started in 16 of the 22 games he played … finished fourth on the team in scoring with 9.5 ppg while also collecting 1.7 rpg … averaged 8.7 ppg against conference foes … finished first in the MCC after hitting 46.8% from three-point range … scored in double figures 12 times during the year, including a season-high 17 points against Cleveland State on Jan. 6 … missed the final five games of the season after pulling an abdominal muscle during pre-game warm-ups in UIC’s outing at Detroit on Feb. 15 … put in 15 points against the Titans when Detroit visited the Windy City on Feb. 3 … had 16 points against Chicago State on Dec. 23 … had 15 points against #9 Illinois on Dec. 29 … tallied 14 points and a season-high five rebounds and four assists in the home victory over Texas-San Antonio on Nov. 21.
1999-00 Highlights: Played in all 31 games last season while earning the starting nod in 10 contests … finished as UIC’s third-highest scorer, averaging 9.1 ppg … also added 2.0 rpg, 28 assists and 15 steals … shot 37.7% from the field and 34.4% from three-point range … chipped in 8.1 ppg and 2.0 rpg in MCC outings … started the year strong as he tallied 14.5 ppg through the Flames’ first eight games of the season … closed out the season just as strong as he averaged 13.7 ppg over the final seven outings of the campaign … scored in double digits 13 times, including a season-high 24 points against Central Michigan on Nov. 27 … registered 22 points in the home win over UW-Milwaukee on Feb. 12 … had 21 points in UIC’s victory over IUPUI on Nov. 30 … averaged 15.0 ppg at the MCC Tournament and led the Flames with 15 points against Detroit in the semifinals on March 5.
1998-99 Highlights: In his first year of action, finished as the team’s third-highest scorer with an average of 7.6 ppg … played in 27 of 28 games while starting in 13 … was the Flames’ second-best free throw shooter at 83.3%, which ranks tied for seventh on the UIC single season charts … went a span of seven games in December during which he connected on 13 straight free throws … scored in double figures nine times during the year, including 15 points in the season-opener at Purdue on Nov. 16 … tallied career-highs of 26 points and six rebounds against Marquette on New Year’s Eve … followed that game up with back-to-back 23-point outings versus Wright State on Jan. 4 and Cleveland State on Jan. 9 … led UIC with 16 points in the overtime win against Florida International on Dec. 17.
1997-98 Highlights: Used the year as a redshirt season, but practiced with the squad and served as a valuable member of the “scout” team.
Prep/Personal Highlights: As a senior at Glenbrook North, he led the Spartans to a 20-8 finish with averages of 22.6 ppg, 4.0 rpg and 2.2 assists ... topped team in scoring with 623 points ... hit 93 three-pointers and shot 47% from beyond the arc while draining 82.3% of his attempts from the free throw line ... shot 48% from the field ... scored in double figures in all 29 games while hitting 20+ points in 19 outings ... earned a spot on the York Holiday All-Tournament Team ... garnered Central Suburban North All-Conference accolades and was also named to the Pioneer Press All-Area Team ... selected to play in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game and helped the Suburban All-Star Team roll to a 105-94 victory over the City All-Stars with 14 points ... as a junior, he guided Glenbrook North to a 19-8 finish with averages of 7.0 ppg and 3.5 rpg … born May 11, 1979 … son of Sandor and Irene Kardos … majoring in Business.
