2000-01 Highlights: As a senior, earned a spot on the All-MCC Defensive Team … started in all 27 games he played in … only missed action was the regular-season finale against Butler on Feb. 24 as he sat out that game with a sore back … finished sixth on the team in scoring with 8.9 ppg and collected 4.1 rpg, which was third-most on the squad … averaged 9.4 ppg in MCC action … passed off 125 assists to 72 turnovers … his 78.8% free throw percentage was second-best on the squad … scored in double figures 13 times … led the Flames in scoring in three times while collecting game-high rebounding honors in three times … finished with a “double-double” of 17 points and a career-high 10 rebounds in the home win against Wright State on Feb. 22 … had 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists against Loyola on Jan. 20 … tallied 21 points in 53 minutes of action against UW-Milwaukee on Jan. 11 … added 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists to the win over Southern Illinois on Dec. 9 … led UIC with a career-high 23 points against Texas-San Antonio on Nov. 21 … passed off a season-high nine assists in the MCC opener at Cleveland State on Jan. 6.
1999-00 Highlights: Started in UIC’s first five games of the season before a heart condition sidelined him the remainder of the year … averaged 7.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg and 7.2 assists during his early-season action … scored in double digits in three of the outings, including a season-high 11 points in the win over IUPUI on Nov. 30 … handed off a career-best 13 assists while tossing in 10 points in the season-opener victory against Norfolk State on Nov. 19.
1998-99 Highlights: Started at the point guard in 11 games while seeing action in a total of 20 outings … averaged 5.4 ppg and 2.1 apg for the year, but improved to 8.4 ppg and 3.1 apg when he was among the starting five … tallied the first-ever “double-double” of his career against Loyola on Jan. 23 with career-highs of 16 points and 11 assists and was named MCC Player of the Week … scored in double figures five times during the year … matched a personal-best with 16 points at Wright State on Jan. 30 … had 10 points on three different occasions, including 10 in his first start of the year versus Florida International on Dec. 17 … had five points, five assists, four steals and four rebounds in the overtime loss to Butler on Jan. 11 … missed the final two games of the year due to an irregular heart beat … also battled asthma problems during the season.
Junior College Highlights: Played his first season of collegiate ball at Malcolm X Junior College in Chicago ... as a freshman in 1996-97, he averaged 20.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 3.1 assists to lead the Hawks ... shot 56.1% from three-point range and 84.9% at the charity stripe ... earned all-region and All-America recognition.
