CHICAGO- UIC Athletics Hall of Famer Curtis Granderson will be a reserve for the American League in tonight's Major League Baseball All-Star Game, airing live on FOX beginning at 7 p.m. Central.

Granderson will make his first appearance in baseball's Midsummer Classic, held at the new Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Granderson, a standout for Mike Dee's UIC teams from 2000-2002, was also quoted in Sports Illustrated's website SI.com about President Barack Obama's first pitch for tonight's All-Star festivities.
