QUICK RECAP:
UIC overpowered Big Ten-member Purdue by a final score of 18-5. The Flames led wire-to-wire as they jumped out to a 10-0 advantage after three innings, which included a second frame six-run surge.  UIC scored another six runs in the seventh inning and then a pair of scores in the eighth stanza to cement the Flames’ largest run total since May 24, 2012, when UIC plated 19 versus Wright State.

LARGER PICTURE:
- The 13-run victory was UIC’s largest triumph over a Big Ten opponent since May 9, 2006, when the Flames dominated in-state rival Northwestern 23-5.
- The Flames tabbed 16 hits, the second highest of the season.
- Redshirt junior Alex Lee recorded his first home run on the season. Lee ended the season ranked second on the team and third in the Horizon League with 39 runs scored. Lee was named to the All-Horizon League Second-Team as a second baseman.
- Senior Alex Jurich hit his second grand slam on the season and ended the game with a team-season high six RBI. Jurich led the league with 46 RBI, ranked second with 40 runs scored and ranked fourth in batting average (.339), slugging percentage (.484) and hits (40), and was also tied for third in the conference with five homers. Jurich was named to the All-Horizon League First Team as a catcher and was a Conference Player of the Year candidate.
