2008 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship Bracket in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

Chicago, Ill.- The UIC baseball team will head to College Station, Texas for 2008 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship Regional action this weekend.

The fourth-seeded Flames (34-20) meet the regional's top seed and host, Texas A&M (43-16), at Olsen Field to begin the postseason this Friday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. Central.

The regional also features second-seeded Dallas Baptist (37-17) and third-seeded Houston (39-22). Those two teams will play on Friday at 12:30 p.m.

Friday's winners will play on Saturday at 6:30 p.m., while both of Friday's losers will play on Saturday in an elimination game at 12:30 p.m.

Another elimination game will take place Sunday at 12:30 p.m., while the regional champion would be decided either later that day at 6:30 p.m. or the following day at 6:30 p.m.

UIC, the two-time defending Horizon League tournament champion and seven-time defending league regular season champion, is making its fourth all-time NCAA Regional appearance. All four of those berths have taken place in the last six years (2003, 2005, 2007, 2008).

The 2008 College Station Regional marks the first time UIC has qualified for the tourney in consecutive seasons.
