    INDIANAPOLIS - The Horizon League has announced that 58 teams tallied perfect 1000 Academic Progress Rates (APR) in the 2012-13 academic year. Three of those squads are from UIC as the volleyball, baseball and women's swimming & diving teams recorded perfect scores.

    The APR is a real-time measure of eligibility and retention of student-athletes competing on every Division I sports team. Of the 19 Championship Sports sponsored by the Horizon League, 17 had at least one team with a perfect 1000 score.

    Men's swimming, men's tennis, women's cross country, women's golf and women's track also posted a retention score of 1000. Meanwhile, men's basketball and women's tennis boasted an eligibility/graduation score of 1000.

    Thirteen UIC teams posted an APR of at least 950, with eight programs boasting a mark of 970 or better. Below are those programs' APR scores during the 2012-13 academic year:

    Baseball - 1000 (1000 eligibility-graduation / 1000 retention)
    Women's Swimming & Diving - 1000 (1000 eligibility-graduation / 1000 retention)
    Volleyball - 1000 (1000 eligibility-graduation / 1000 retention)
    Men's Basketball - 980 (1000 eligibility-graduation / 962 retention)
    Men's Swimming & Diving - 978 (956 eligibility-graduation / 1000 retention)
    Women's Cross Country - 972 (944 eligibility-graduation / 1000 retention)
    Women's Track, Indoor - 972 (944 eligibility-graduation / 1000 retention)
    Women's Track, Outdoor - 972 (944 eligibility-graduation / 1000 retention)
    Women's Golf - 967 (933 eligibility-graduation / 1000 retention)
    Women's Tennis - 962 (1000 eligibility-graduation / 923 retention)
    Men's Tennis - 958 (917 eligibility-graduation / 1000 retention)
