2008 UIC Baseball Horizon League Championship Guide in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

Chicago, Ill.- The UIC baseball team heads to Niles, Ohio for the 2008 Horizon League Baseball Championship presented by U.S. Army at Youngstown State's Eastwood Field this week.

The top-seeded Flames (31-19, 17-6 Horizon League) will play their first game on Thursday at 6 p.m. Central against an opponent to be determined.

UIC heads into the championship summit on a seven-game winning streak, winning its last six Horizon League games to clinch the program's seventh consecutive conference regular season title.

The Flames have also won 30-plus games in each of the last nine seasons after picking up wins No. 30 and 31 against Valparaiso on Saturday.

UIC will seek to win its fourth all-time Horizon League Baseball Championship. A 2008 title would also signify the first time the Flames have won back-to-back tournament crowns.
