Baseball Heads to Purdue On Wednesday|

CHICAGO - The UIC baseball team (14-18) will compete in its first non-league road game since March 19 when the Flames journey to Purdue on Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. CT. UIC downed the Boilermakers by a final of 18-5 at home on April 1, the Flames largest win against a Big Ten opponent since 2006.
UIC currently sits in a tie for second place in the Horizon League along with Milwaukee and Valparaiso. Prior to dropping three straight against league-leading Wright this past weekend, the Flames had won four consecutive conference series'.
The Flames are well represented in the latest edition of the NCAA statistical report, ranking ninth in team batting average (.312) and runs per game (7.9). Individually, senior Jacob McNamara ranks sixth in on-base percentage (.503) and 30th in batting average (.390). Senior Alex Jurich owns a league-best and the nation's 24th highest mark in RBI per game (1.06).
Purdue owns an overall record of 9-26 as they prepare for a non-league road game at Indiana State on Tuesday night before hosting UIC. The Boilermakers tout two players that hit above the .300 mark in senior Sean McHugh (.306) and redshirt sophomore Kyle Wood (.302).
