Chicago, Ill. - For the second time this season, UIC junior Nick Worm has been named the MCC Pitcher of the Week it was announced on Tuesday. The native of Montgomery, Minn., also earned the honor following the first week of the season on Feb. 14.

Worm pitched superbly in his lone appearance on the mound last week to pick up his second win of the year, a 7-1 decision at Belmont. In nine complete innings, he surrendered just four scattered hits and struck out five while giving up just one earned run and holding the Bruins to a .133 batting average.

With the outing, Worm lowered his ERA to a team-best 4.25 while he also tops the squad for innings pitched (36.0) and strikeouts (18). Worm and UIC (5-13) will hit the road this weekend for a three-game series with Evansville, starting Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
