Nashville, Tenn. - The UIC baseball team had its outing against Belmont University rained out Sunday afternoon to finish up its spring trip with a 3-3 record.

After falling to Cincinnati, 4-0, on March 12 in the first game of the spring excursion, the Flames grabbed back-to-back victories over Xavier, 2-1 and 9-0, early last week as pitchers Brad Mears and Sean McNichols were both tremendous in the wins. On Thursday, UIC dropped a heartbreaker at Austin Peay, falling 11-10, after surrendering three runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose their lead.

On Friday, the Flames rebounded to pick up a 7-1 victory over Belmont as junior Nick Worm turned in a superb effort on the mound in his second win of the year. Yesterday, however, it was heartbreak time again for the Flames as the Bruins earned a walk with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth to squeak out a 5-4 win.
