Sophomore Larry Banks Earns MCC Pitcher Of The Week Accolades|

Chicago, Ill. - For the second time this season, a UIC pitcher has been honored by the Midwestern Collegiate Conference as sophomore Larry Banks (Cicero, Ill./Nazareth Academy) has been hailed the league's pitcher of the week it was announced today.
Banks picked up his first win of the season last weekend against the Indiana Hoosiers as he tossed a complete game shutout. In nine innings, the 6-foot-3 righty scattered eight hits and struck out one as the Flames recorded a 6-0 victory.
With the outing, Banks lowered his team-best earned run average to 1.78 and improved his season record to 1-1.
The Flames (3-9), who have won four of its last five games against Big Ten programs, hit the road this weekend for a three-game series at Saint Louis starting Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
