UIC freshman J.P. Moran (Burlington, Wis./Westosha Central) has been selected as the Midwestern Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks it was announced today. He was also hailed the MCC's top player of the week on Feb. 14.

Moran, a starter in the Flames' outfield in all eight games this season, had a tremendous performance at the plate against Tennessee Tech last weekend as he compiled an .800 batting average, a .750 on-base percentage and a 1.200 slugging percentage. Additionally, he tallied four RBI, two doubles, two walks and a sacrifice fly in the pair of outings.

With the strong weekend, Moran raised his season batting average to .333, best of all UIC rookies and third-highest on the squad, while he also leads the squad with 10 hits and four doubles. He has also been flawless in the field, recording 15 putouts without an error.

The Flames (1-8) will be in action this weekend against Saint Louis for a three-game series starting Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
