Baseball Punishes Purdue North Central, 16-3

CHICAGO- The UIC baseball team defeated Purdue North Central, 16-3, at Les Miller Field on Monday night. The Flames improved to 21-20 on the season after their fifth win in the last six contests. Jake Carr belted his team-high sixth home run of the year in the first inning. Carr and Brandon Harwell (two doubles) drove in three runs apiece, while Steve McGuiggan went 3-for-6 at the dish. Peter Ifft picked up the win with six innings of work, fanning five. UIC scored half of its runs in an eight-run seventh inning. The Flames host Trinity International this Tuesday at 7:35 p.m .
