Fairborn, Ohio - Wright State's Chris Tuttle broke a 3-all tie in the bottom of the seventh inning with a RBI single up the middle to help propel the host Raiders to the 4-3 Horizon League victory at Nischwitz Stadium on Friday night.

With the victory, Wright State improves to 12-22 on the season and 4-5 in Horizon League action, while the Flames fall to 17-13 overall and 6-3 in league play.

Wright State catcher Bryan Vickers also turned in a solid effort for the Raiders as he connected for a solo homer - his seventh of the season - and added a RBI triple in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Wright State starter J.P. Jung (2-5) earned the victory for the Raiders, striking out eight batters and allowed six hits in seven innings of work. Reliever Casey Abrams tossed 1 2/3 innings of hitless relief for the Raiders to pick up his second save of the season.

Sophomore Ryan Gehring (4-3) was the hard-luck loser for the Flames as he scattered eight hits and allowed four runs in a complete-game effort.

Sophomore second baseman Bryan Russo led the charge offensively for the Flames, going 2-for-4 with a RBI, including his team-leading fourth homer of the season to lead off the third inning for UIC.

The Flames also received solid efforts from shortstop Jordan DeVoir (2-for-4, run) and third baseman Nelson Gord (1-for-3, 2 RBI).

UIC and Wright State will go at it again on Saturday morning with a doubleheader slated for an 11:00 a.m. (CST) start.
