    Chicago, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago junior reliever Jason Foster scattered four hits and allowed one run in 4.1 innings of work, while fanning two batters, to help the host Flames to their eighth consecutive victory and series sweep with the 8-3 non-conference win over Valparaiso at Les Miller Field on Sunday afternoon.

    The victory marks Foster's fourth consecutive win out of the bullpen. In seven relief appearances, Foster (4-3) has accumulated four wins and two saves.

    With the victory, UIC improves to 13-9-1 on the campaign, while the Crusaders fall to 7-11 overall.

    Seniors Bryan Russo (run) and Shane Crowder (RBI) paced the UIC offensive attack with two hits apiece, while teammate Jeff Gremley (run) added a pair of RBI with two sacrifice flies.

    Valpo's Kevin Perri went 3-for-4 with a run scored to lead the Crusaders, while Kevin Kutansky (2 RBI, run) and Mike Arensdorff each contributed two base-knocks in the loss.

    Matthew Gillikin (0-1) took the loss for the Crusaders, surrendering five runs, four hits and four walks in four innings pitched.

    UIC will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon, as they will host Bradley for a 3:05 p.m. first pitch at Les Miller Field.
