    Valparaiso, Ind. - University of Illinois at Chicago junior right fielder Bart Babineaux went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI to help propel the visiting Flames to their season-best, seventh consecutive win with the 9-4 non-conference triumph over Valparaiso at Emory Bauer Field on Saturday afternoon.

    UIC outfielder Shane Crowder also turned in a solid effort at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored.

    With the victory, UIC improves to 12-9-1 on the campaign, while the host Crusaders fall to 7-10 overall.

    UIC sophomore hurler Zach Peterson (3-1) picked up the win for the Flames, scattering seven hits and four runs in 6.2 innings of work, while fanning five batters. Valpo's Eric Brauer (3-2) was tagged with the loss, giving up six runs and 11 hits in five innings pitched.

    Valpo left fielder Kevin Perri led the Crusaders offensively, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a RBI, while teammate Colin Reynolds chipped in two RBI.

    UIC and Valparaiso will conclude the three-game series at Les Miller Field on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is slated for 1:05 p.m.
