Chicago, Ill.- The UIC baseball team notched its second consecutive shutout in as many days with a 9-0 victory over Illinois Tech at Les Miller Field on Wednesday night.

Ben Trotter and Tyler Moore went deep for the Flames (8-12), while Grant Kohlstaedt teamed with four other Flames hurlers to keep the Scarlet Hawks scoreless.

UIC scored six times in the first four innings to build a lead it would never relinquish.

Holding a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third, UIC broke it open on Trotter's three-run jack over the left field wall.

Moore finished 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored, while Eric Palomino had a perfect 2-for-2 day at the plate.
