Chicago, Ill.- The UIC baseball team rallied from a 10-3 deficit to force extra innings, but the Flames fell just short as UW-Milwaukee picked up an 11-10 win in 11 innings in the first game of a doubleheader at Les Miller Field on Saturday.

In a game that took nearly four hours to complete, the Flames (7-11, 1-1 Horizon) scored seven unanswered runs between the seventh and ninth innings to knot the game at 10-10. An RBI single by Nick Rainwater scored Bart Babineaux to complete the comeback and send the game to extra innings.

Joe Nowicki hit an RBI double in the top of the 11th to put the Panthers (6-9, 1-1 Horizon) on top by a run, but UIC had a chance to tie up the game in the bottom half of the frame. Larry Gempp Jr.'s double with two out gave Rainwater another chance to tie the game, but the junior third baseman flied out to right field to end the game.

Mark Hallberg went 2-for-5 with three RBI. Gempp, Rainwater and Ted Rosinski each went 3-for 6 at the dish.

Babineaux and Justin Johnson each drove in two runs for UIC.

Jason Foster was tagged with the loss. Rob Brockel pitched three innings to earn the win.

The Flames and the Panthers face off in the second game at 3:30 p.m. CST.
