Long Beach, Calif.- Despite seven hits against Long Beach State pitching, the UIC baseball team was unable to bring home a run while being haunted by five errors as the Flames fell to the No. 18/17 Dirtbags, 10-0, at Blair Field on Sunday afternoon.

UIC (2-5) left six runners on base, including three in scoring position.

Ted Rosinski and Nick Rainwater each went 2-for-3 on the day.

Freshman Don Phillis (0-2) picked up the loss, lasting four innings and giving up eight runs with only four earned.

Vance Worley (1-2) pitched eight innings for the win, improving LBSU to 9-4.

A seven-run second inning, marked by two UIC errors, doomed the Flames.

UIC hits the road against a nationally-ranked opponent for the second straight weekend, as the Flames head to Oxford, Miss., to take on No. 23/19 Ole Miss in a three-game series beginning this Friday.
