Evansville Completes Series Sweep Over Baseball, 10-2|

Evansville, Ind. -Evansville catcher Dustin Knight went 3-for-3 with four RBI, including a two-run home run, to propel the host Purple Aces to the non-conference sweep of the University of Illinois at Chicago with the 10-2 victory over the Flames at Braun Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Evansville second baseman Robbie Minor chipped in two hits and three RBI for the victors.
With the victory, Evansville remains undefeated at 6-0, while the Flames fall to 0-3 on the campaign.
For the game, UIC committed five errors, which led to three unearned runs, and left 10 men on base, six of which were in scoring position.
UIC senior left-hander Tom Szalewski (0-1) was tagged with the loss, allowing seven hits and seven runs, five earned, in five innings of work. Evansville starter Fred Jones (1-0) earned the victory for the Purple Aces, allowing one run and two hits in the minimum five innings, while fanning five Flames' batters.
Flames' first baseman Mark Hallberg topped the Flames offensively, going 2-for-5 on the afternoon.
UIC will be back in action on Friday evening, as they will travel to Port St. Lucie, Fla., for a three-game series against Michigan. First-pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m. (CST).
