    UIC Baseball 2013 Season Preview

    Flames begin play at #24 Texas A&M on Friday

    Field helped guide his Bishop Gorman Gaels to a No. 1 national ranking by USA Today and its seventh straight class 4A Nevada state title this past spring. The two-sport athlete tallied a .500 batting average during his senior campaign along with a slugging percentage of .864. Field's head coach, Nick Day, was named the 2012 USA Today National Coach of the Year and his brother, Johnny Field, helped the Arizona Wildcats capture the 2012 College World Series title.

    "Anyone that wrestles is a pretty tough kid and that's Tommy (Field)," said head coach Dee. "He has a chance to come in a play right away for us."
