2002 Highlights: Missed the rest of the season with an injury following four appearances…struck out his first collegiate batter against Viterbo on March 26th…retired the side in order and struck out a batter in one inning to help UIC to the 27-1 victory over Tennessee-Martin on March 8th. Prep/Personal: Was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 31st round (928th overall) of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft…as a senior at Downers Grove North High School, he compiled a 6-2 record with one save while finishing up with a 2.21 ERA…in 50.2 innings of work, he fanned a team-best 68 batters while surrendering 39 hits and 10 earned runs…helped the Trojans to a 28-6 record and a West Suburban Silver Conference championship…following the year, he went on to collect all-state honorable mention, all-area and West Suburban Silver All-Conference honors…as a junior, he compiled a 3.00 ERA with a 6-0 record…fanned 54 batters in 36 innings of work while the Trojans finished with a 29-9 record en route to a regional title…compiled a 15-1 record on the mound during his freshman and sophomore years…born March 12, 1983…son of Rick and Margy Sigerich…plans to major in business. |
