After playing three seasons at Vanderbilt University, Jack Lupo joined the Flames community as Volunteer and First Base Coach in Aug. of 2013. The two-year starting center fielder attended the Air Force Academy his freshman year before joining the Commodores and reaching the College World Series his sophomore season. The three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient was also successful in guiding VU to claim two SEC titles in 2011 and 2013, as well as leading the `Dores to a No. 1 ranking in the national polls during the 2013 season.
"Jack Lupo modeled everything that a Vanderbilt Baseball player represented from the time that he stepped on campus to the day he left," said Vanderbilt Head Coach Tim Corbin. "He was a skilled player but, what was more impressive was his character. He understood servant leadership at the highest level and was completely invested in the team at every turn. His legacy was leaving the program in better shape than when he arrived. We were better as an organization because of Jack's presence...he's a tremendous kid."
