1998 Highlights: As a rookie, he compiled a 1-1 record with a team-best 3.46 ERA...he tallied 22 strikeouts and held opponents to a .272 batting average in 26.0 innings pitched...picked up his first collegiate win against Maryland Eastern Shore as he went four complete innings with four strikeouts and one earned run...was UIC's hard luck hurler in the 1-0 extra-inning loss to Butler as he threw eight and a third innings and struck out five while allowing just three scattered hits and one unearned run.

Prep/Personal: On the mound as a senior, he compiled a 7-2 record as the Thunderbirds finished the year with a 28-11-1 record...in 78 innings pitched, he struck out 106 batters, the second-best single season performance in school history, while allowing 51 walks en route to a 4.22 ERA...earned SICA East All-Conference accolades while Thornwood finished second in the conference race with a 7-3 mark...also earned honorable mention all-area recognition...as a junior, hurled 32.3 innings with 35 strikeouts...racked up a 3-3 record with a 4.11 ERA while helping Thornwood capture the SICA Conference championship and finish the season with a 25-8 record...born July 31, 1979...son of Paul and Karen Gilliam...a Liberal Arts and Sciences major.
