    Career Highlights: Finished with a career batting average of .358 at UIC, tied for the sixth-best career average in school history...tied for fourth in school history with 224 career hits...drove in 139 runs in three seasons, the third-most in the UIC career record book...connected for 25 home runs during his career, tied with Curtis Granderson for the second-most in a career at UIC...owns second place in the UIC record book for career triples with 11.

    2007: Earned third straight selection to the All-Horizon League First Team while also garnering ABCA/Rawlings NCAA All-Mideast Region Second Team honors...led UIC in batting average (.388), slugging percentage (.578), RBI (54), hits (80), and triples (4)...Horizon League All-Tournament Team selection after hitting league-record .800 (8-for-10) in three tourney games... two-time Horizon League Player of the Week (Feb. 20, April 30)...fell a single short of the cycle in UIC's game against Cleveland State on May 24...went 3-for-5 and hit go-ahead two-run single in ninth inning against No. 14 Georgia Tech on Feb.17.

    2006: Named to the All-Horizon League First Team for the second consecutive season...hit .326 (72-for-221) with 10 home runs and 45 RBI...smacked a career-high 18 doubles...scored 61 runs...led team with 23 multi-hit games...posted 12 multi-RBI games...started 54 games in center field...drove in six runs, homering twice and scoring four runs, in a 3-for-5 performance versus Butler in the first game of a doubleheader on May 13...drove in six runs and smashed three extra-base hits in UIC's first two games of the Horizon League Tournament.

    2005: Selected to both the All-Horizon League First Team and Horizon League All-Newcomer Team after batting a team-best .362 with eight home runs and 40 RBI...ended the season with a 12-game hitting streak...collected 23 multi-hit games on the season...set a Les Miller Field record by hitting three home runs and tied Les Miller Field records with five runs scored and seven RBI against UW-Stevens Point on April 27.

    Prior to UIC: Pushed College of Lake County to the Skyway Community College Championship...set seven records for the Lancers, including batting average (.502), hits (102), RBI (96), triples (10), total bases (181), times on base (140), hitting streak (25)...finished freshman campaign first in the nation in RBI (96), second in the nation in hitting (.502) and sixth in home runs (13)...was the first player in school history to hit .500...named team MVP...garnered SCCC All-Conference honors...picked up All-State and All-Region honors.

    Prep/Personal: Three-year varsity letterwinner for Grant High School...pushed Bulldogs to the Prairie Division Championship as a senior...helped Grant to the school's first-ever regional championship in school history as a a senior led Grant in hitting (.439), RBI (26) and home runs (3)...also led squad as a junior in batting average (.379), RBI (28) and home runs (9)...three-year state hitting derby finalist...set school records for homers in a season (13), career homers (25), career total bases (212), career RBI (96), career slugging percentage (.699), at bats in a season (117), games played for a single season (37), career grand slams (5) and home runs in a game (3)...set several state records including career games played (101), career runs scored (98), career RBI (96), career hits (112), career home runs (25), career grand slams (5), season homers (13), season grand slams (3), season walks (24) and home runs in a game (3)...earned numerous honors as a senior, including All-North Suburban Prairie honors, Baseball America's `Top Illinois Prospect List', Collegiate Baseball `Illinois Player to Watch', IBCA All-Illinois Team, Chicago Sun-Times All-State honors, Daily Herald All-Area honors, Lakeland All-Area honors, Lakeland Media's Preseason Player of the Year, All-Lake County First Team, `Spirit of the Northwest' All-Tournament team and Varsity Leading Hitter award...was feted with several honors as a junior, including All-Lake County Second Team, Daily Herald All-Area First Team, `Spirit of the Northwest' All-Tournament team and All-North Suburban Prairie First Team honors... born March 11, 1984...son of Dean and Susan Tragos and Larry Gempp Sr....graduated with a degree in business.
