Pat Donovan enters his seventh season as the athletic trainer for UIC baseball and his fourth year as the associate athletic trainer for the University of Illinois at Chicago after spending the previous four seasons as an assistant athletic trainer.
In addition to serving as the top trainer for the UIC baseball program, Donovan assists the sports medicine needs of all 18 Flames athletic squads.
Prior to UIC, Donovan spent two seasons as a graduate assistant for the University of Minnesota, where he earned his master's degree in Applied Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport and Exercise Science.
During his stint with the Golden Gophers from 2001 to 2003, Donovan worked exclusively with the football squad.
Donovan graduated from UIC in 2000 with University and High Honors while a member of the Honors College. While working as a student trainer for the Flames, Donovan worked primarily with the men's soccer and men's gymnastics teams while assisting with the other 16 Division I athletic programs.
Donovan is a NATA-certified athletic trainer and holds advanced certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is a member of the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association and Illinois Athletic Trainers' Association.
