CHICAGO – The UIC baseball team continued its three-game series with Bradley on Saturday evening, as the two played the second game on a chilly night at Granderson Stadium. The Flames entered the day with a three-game winning streak, including the series opener on Friday.

- For the second time in the series, the Braves got on the board first on Saturday, as Bradley scratched across three in the visiting half of the fourth inning to go ahead early.
- The Flames didn't wait long to answer back, as Charlie Szykowny's 13th home run of the season, a three-run blast to right-center, tied the game at 3-3.
- UIC would play add-on its next time to the plate in the bottom of the sixth, as Zane Zielinski drove home two runs with a single to right field, giving the Flames a 5-3 lead at the time.
- The Braves would come back to tie the game in the next half inning with a solo home run and an RBI single, bringing the score to 5-5.
- Charlie Szykowny launched his second home run of the night to re-establish the lead for UIC in the bottom of the seventh, a solo shot to right field that traveled 430 feet.
- The Flames would add to their lead in the eighth, as Max Farfan sent his third home run of the season over the left field fence, putting the Flames ahead 7-5. UIC would add one more run on a Clay Conn RBI single, bringing home Zielinski to extend the Flames lead to three runs.
- Bradley again swung back in the top of the ninth scoring a run on relief pitcher Peter Newton to narrow the gap to 8-6. Reece Lawler came on in a save situation for the second game in a row, and stranded the tying run at third to lock down his second save in as many games.

The Flames and Braves will close their three-game series Sunday afternoon in Chicago, as the Flames will look for the series sweep, what would be their first in Missouri Valley Conference play.
