ANN ARBOR- Â The UIC men's gymnastics team wrapped up its last meet of the regular season at Michigan, Saturday afternoon inside the Cliff Keen Arena. The Flames finished the day with a score of 368.600 falling to the Wolverines' total of 414.950.
"Real rough day," said head coach Charley Nelson.  "It got us off our game…no events where we went five for five and we got to be better than that."
Sophomore Steen Haugsted led the way for the Flames on rings and on parallel bars; Haugsted notched a final score of 13.200 on rings, while his stuck dismount off parallel bars earned him the team high of 12.700.Â

On floor freshman Satchel Hudson took the reins with after capturing a 12.950, followed by freshman Dalai Jamiyankhuu's 12.700 total. Also tallying a 12.700 was freshman Basil Szechinski, who was a team best on the high bar.Â
Senior co-captain Christopher Root claimed a 13.100 on the pommel horse for a team lead, while fellow senior CJ Patton was second best with his total of 12.250.Â
Freshman Asad Jooma soared on the vault and landed a 13.750, and freshman Victor Bello followed suit earning a 13.450 on the event while Hudson finished the day with a 13.200.Â
"Now we've got two weeks and a lot of work to do," said Nelson.Â
The Flames will break for a week as they prepare to host the 2017 ECAC Championships inside the UIC Pavilion on Saturday, April 8 at 2 p (CT).
