    Torres Named HL Offensive Player of the Week

    UIC senior forward Jesus Torres has been named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 25-Sept. 1, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Torres picks up the first Horizon League accolade of the season after recording two goals and one assist during opening weekend.

    UIC Women's Soccer Earns First Program Victory

    The UIC women's soccer team (1-4-0) earned its first program victory on Sunday afternoon as they defeated IUPUI by a final score of 2-0 at Flames Field. The Flames notched win number one in their fifth game of the inaugural season as junior Flo Beshiri and sophomore Jasmin Carrera recorded goals for UIC.

    Men's Soccer Secures 1-0 Shutout against San Francisco

    The UIC men's soccer team (2-0-0) closed out its opening weekend on Sunday with a 1-0 shutout win against San Francisco (1-1-0) at Flames Field. Senior Jesus Torres scored his second goal of the season in the 22nd minute off a pass from junior Manny Chavez.

    Women's Golf Shoots 319 at Chi-Town Classic

    The UIC women's golf team began the 2014-15 season with a strong performance at the third annual Chi-Town Classic Monday afternoon on their home course of Cog Hill Golf & Country Club. The Flames posted a team score of 319, the third best in program history and the lowest since Sept. 9, 2012 when UIC carded a 312 at the Detroit Titans Invite.

    Cross Country Concludes Competition at Home Opener

    The UIC men's and women's cross country teams opened up the 2014 season Saturday hosting the UIC Home Opener at Lewis University in Romeoville. The women's squad earned first place in the 4K race, while the men finished second in the 6K event.
