The 2013-14 UIC men's basketball non-conference season will feature a return match-up against Northwestern at the UIC Pavilion, a renewed rivalry with Illinois at the United Center, and the first-of four-straight annual meetings versus Loyola, with the first installment taking place at Gentile Arena on the north side.

The UIC baseball team will journey to Niles, Ohio for the start of the 2013 Horizon League Baseball Championship hosted by Youngstown State at Eastwood Field. The second-seeded Flames will commence tournament action on Thursday against No. 3 seed Valparaiso at 11 a.m. ET. UIC tied-for-second in the regular season with the Crusaders, but own the tie-breaker by winning five of their six meetings.

Sophomore Tomas Michelson and redshirt senior Alex Grunenwald highlight a group of seven UIC baseball players that earned All-Horizon League distinction as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Michelson and Grunenwald were named to the first team, while seniors Joe Betcher and Ryan Boss and sophomore Tyler Detmer collected second team laurels.

Junior Jana Knoppe, who helped lead the UIC women's tennis team to its 17th-consecutive Horizon League Championship last month, has been named the League's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Month for the month of April. It marks the second-straight month that a UIC female student-athlete has collected the honor.

UIC senior women's gymnast Emily Lawrence was named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team, as announced by College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) officials on Friday. Lawrence graduated with her bachelor's degree in Psychology last week, completing her academic trek with a flawless 4.0 cumulative grade-point-average.

UIC women's tennis head coach Shannon Tully has been named the Wilson/ITA Coach of the Year for the Midwest Region, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). This marks the first such accolade of Tully's career.
