    UIC defeated Green Bay 2-1 at Flames Field for its 15th regular-season win, a program best. Jorge Alvarez scored the go-ahead goal in the 84th minute as the Flames captured their ninth-straight win to end the regular season with an unblemished 7-0-0 Horizon League record.

    Former Standout Jay DeMerit Announces Retirement From Pro Soccer

    UIC men's soccer alum Jay DeMerit officially announced his retirement from professional soccer on Thursday, bringing his 10-year career to a close. DeMerit played in a total of 284 games during his tenure with Watford FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC, while also making 26 appearances as a member of the U.S. national team.

    Softball to Hold Annual Alumni Game

    UIC head softball coach Michelle Venturella announced on Friday that the annual alumni game will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 beginning at 3 p.m. CT at Flames Field. The game, featuring current and former players, will follow a 1 p.m. scrimmage of the 2014-15 Flames.

    Top Flames Moment: Whitney Johnson Dives at NCAA Zone C Championships

    Junior Whitney Johnson competed in the one-meter and three-meter events at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships at Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. Johnson ended competition with scoring 216.70 on the one-meter and 226.40 on the three-meter.

    Former Flame Courtney Heeley Selected to Join USA Team Handball

    Former UIC softball player Courtney Heeley was recently chosen to be a part of USA Team Handball following the Women's Residency Program tryouts at Auburn University's Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum in Auburn, Ala. Heeley was selected among 14 athletes in attendance and is the only known former UIC student-athlete to compete with USA Team Handball.
