Bill Thomas joined the UIC athletic staff in November of 2008 as Associate Athletic Director. Thomas brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Flames Athletic Department.
Prior to UIC, Thomas spent 2006 until 2008 as the Associate Athletic Director for Business and Facilities Operations at Saint Louis University. Thomas managed the athletic department budget, while also coordinating accounting of ticket sales, corporate sponsorships and seating based gifts.
From 1999 to 2006, Thomas served as Assistant Director of Ticket Operations for the St. Louis Rams. He managed daily accounting and ticket sales revenue while maintaining the relationship with National City Bank. Also he worked with development of ticket sales strategies including the design of ticket sales brochures, direct mail schemes, print advertisements and e-mail initiatives.
Thomas worked as the Director of Ticket Operations at Saint Louis University from 1995 until 1999. He managed the men's basketball season ticket database and accounted for the yearly ticket sales revenue. He assisted with the ticket system conversion to Ticketmaster.
Thomas spent 1993 to 1995 as the Assistant Ticket Manager at Western Kentucky. He was responsible for all money deposits generated by ticket sales. He administered policies regarding donor seating and season ticket allocation.
In the spring of 1993, Thomas interned with the special projects coordinator for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He analyzed blueprints regarding the construction of Gund (now Quicken Loans) Arena. Thomas also performed strategic research of NBA arenas to gather design and logistics data.
Thomas attended Akron from 1987 to 1991. He received his bachelor's degree in business management in 1991. Thomas then attended Kent State and earned his master's degree in sports administration in 1993.
