Casie Sullivan returned to the UIC athletic department in August of 2011 as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Game Operations. Her duties in that capacity include promoting UIC athletic events, increasing fan involvement and assisting in game-day operations.
Sullivan was an outisde hitter for the Flames from 2006-2010, where she was the team captain during four of those seasons (2007-2010). She served as the team's setter in the 2007 season, and then finished her career with nearly 1,000 kills (954) and more than 500 assists (503). Sullivan was an all-Horizon League honoree in 2009, a season in which she set career-highs in kills (403) and digs (349). She attended Wethersfield High School in Kewanee, Ill., where she was a standout in volleyball and basketball during her prep career.
Sullivan earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from UIC in May of 2010, worked in UIC's Athletic Department during the 2010 winter and spring in corporate sales and sponsorship. In that capacity, Sullivan helped plan and organize corporate sponsor events. She also monitored and ensured that contract fulfillments were met. Sullivan then earned her master's degree from UIC in education with an emphasis in instructional leadership in May of 2011.
Sullivan also served as a coach for junior high and high school volleyball camps at UIC for five-consecutive summers (2005-2011). She was responsible for assisting in organizing daily events and supervising campers. She also trained and developed new members and scheduled the staff.
