Ross Cain joined the UIC athletic staff in 2005 as a student employee in the facilities department. He is currently the Coordinator of Facility Operations.
As the Coordinator of Facilities Operations, Cain coordinates and plans events, such as NCAA Division I athletics, summer camps, classes, lectures and corporate picnics. He acts as the liaison between external events and the Associate Athletic Director/Director of Facilities, Bill Bavirsha. Cain is also the liaison to the UIC Department of Athletics. He is responsible for the management and coordination of student-employees.
From 2007 to 2011, Cain served as the Director of Soccer Operations at UIC. In this position, he managed game-day operations and game-day staff. He planned travel for the soccer team, while taking care of the equipment, budget, and inventory.
Cain was a brewery intern at America's Brewing Company in Aurora, Ill., from 2008 to 2011. He assisted in all aspects of the brewhouse operation and was accountable for the brewery sanitation, as well as keg cleaning and filling.
Cain was a UIC student-athlete as a member of the soccer team from 2002 to 2006. He was named to the 2002 Horizon League all-newcomer team. After starting 18 games in goal in 2003, Cain ranked first in the Horizon League in saves with 97 stops and was also first in the Horizon League in save percentage with .815. That save percentage ranked him 14th in the NCAA.
Cain received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 2007.
