Assistant Athletic Trainer
Nicole Grahm joined the Flames in Aug. 2013 as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for women's basketball.
Prior to coming to UIC, Grahm served as the Intern Assistant Athletic Trainer at Western Michigan, where she implemented injury prevention, evaluation, and recognition for women's basketball and women's tennis. Grahm also developed physical rehabilitation programs and completed post-operative protocols, coordinated care with team physicians and local psychologists, and mentored Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers.
From 2011-12, Grahm served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lake Forest College, where she was responsible to 10 sports. Grahm maintained active and current medical records, supplyed emergency care and referral to outside providers, coordinated insurance information, and used Athletic Training System software. She also implemented Self-Myofascial Release Techniques and Hip Strengthening Programs, and supervised and scheduled student-workers.
From 2009-11, Grahm served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the men's and women's cross country and track and tfeld at Iowa State. There, she traveled to away competitions, supervised Athletic Training students and supplied emergency care and referral to outside providers. Grahm was responsible for collaborating with the Head Athletic Trainer, Team Physician and Coaching Staff, creating and modifying strength and conditioning programs for injured athletes, and supervising summer strength and conditioning workouts for the football team.
Grahm graduated from Illinois State in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, and received her Master of Education in Higher Education at Iowa State in 2011.
