    UIC Athletics Announces Staff Changes, Promotions

    Shannon Norkus promoted to Director of Compliance; Ptak elevated to Assistant AD

    Kyle Decker joined the UIC Athletics staff in September of 2010 as the Ticket Sales and Operations Coordinator. In that capacity, he manages the UIC Community Assist program, leads customer service staff, and acts as donations coordinator in the various charitable efforts of the department. In June of 2012 Decker was promoted to the Manager of Ticket Operations, in that capacity he will handle the accounting for the ticket department.

    Decker brings his unique experience in marketing and operations to UIC after most recently working for Coca-Cola and glaceau since January 2009, where he served as a Brand Ambassador and Team Lead. During the two-year stint, he organized and managed various events under the Coke and glaceau names, leading the team to create positive experiences for clients and customers.

    He was also an active volunteer in marketing at Provena St. Mary's Hospital in 2008-2009, where he helped create ad-copy in radio, print, and the web for various hospital programs.

    Decker earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008, where he was a member of the College of Business Honors Program. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in business administration at UIC.
