    UIC Welcomes Back Andrew Haring as Associate Athletic Director

    Haring to oversee athletic development operations

    UIC Athletics announced the hiring of Andrew Haring as the Associate Athletic Director for Development on Jan. 14, 2014. Haring spent the previous four years at Texas-Pan American where he was promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations in May of 2011. Haring returns to UIC after serving nine seasons as the Director of Men's Basketball Operations from 1996-2005 under former head coach Jimmy Collins.

    Haring will oversee all developmental aspects for UIC Athletics as well as other external responsibilities.

    At Texas-Pan American, he provided management for several departments including, fundraising, marketing, promotions, corporate sponsorships, licensing and tickets. Haring led a group of full-timers that increased overall department revenue by 260% from 2010-2013. During that same time frame, he also helped boast sponsorship dollars by 372%, negotiating several of the deals himself.

    Prior to Texas-Pan American, Haring spent more than three years at Texas-San Antonio, having supervision over the athletic development office along with game operations and marketing initiatives. He was promoted after his first year to Assistant Athletic Director for Development.

    From 2005-2007, Haring worked as the Assistant Director of Athletic Development at Northern Illinois where he advanced the NIU giving program and maintained several of the donor accounts.

    Haring received his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in 1992 in journalism and also served as a student manager for the Fighting Illini men's basketball team. Haring stayed on as a graduate assistant with the team and completed his master's degree in sport management in 1994.
