CHICAGO – The UIC Athletic department recently unveiled a new fundraising initiative titled the Champions Club, which is designed to enhance the student-athlete experience.  The newly fabricated developmental program will serve as the annual fundraising arm of the athletic department with chief aspirations of increasing student-athlete aid and providing more adequate facilities.

“The Champions Club is a vital component in our future success as an athletic department,” said UIC Athletic Director Jim Schmidt.  “One of our top priorities is to give our student-athletes the best possible experience, but rising costs in education have made providing that quality experience more challenging.  We have witnessed tremendous community support for many years here at UIC and I’m confident that will continue.”

Members of the Champions Club will receive an exclusive membership card, access to behind-the-scenes events, recognition at a men’s basketball game and most importantly a chance to be a part of the UIC family and its traditions.
