Chicago, Ill. - Seven UIC student-athletes were honored for excelling on the field as well as in the classroom as the Horizon League announced the Academic All-League teams for the spring sports on Friday.

The Flames NCAA tournament teams from the spring season, baseball and women's tennis, both featured two student-athletes on their respective all-league teams. Softball, men's tennis and men's track & field also had representation with one team member recognized as well.

To be considered for an all-league berth, a student-athlete needs to have a 3.20 or high cumulative GPA and have completed at least 24 hours of credit at the member institution.
