UIC Athletics To Take Part In Chicago's Olympic Day Celebration On June 23

Members of the Flames community will be on hand at the North Avenue Beach festivities next Tuesday.

CHICAGO - The UIC Athletic Department will be on hand for the festivities and celebration at the Chicago 2016 Olympic Day held next Tuesday, June 23.

Flames coaches, staff and student-athletes will be on hand at the North Avenue beach from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Sports Extravaganza, which will convert the sandy shores of Lake Michigan into a mini Olympic games, featuring many sports that would take place in Chicago if the city were to win the bid on October 2.

UIC's contingent will be located near the bag's competition at the north most end of the Sports Extravaganza site.

The day's festivities will kick off at 6 p.m. with a pair of fun runs along the lakefront path and come to a close with a surprise performance by a mystery musician.
