Chicago, Ill.- 34 UIC student-athletes earned a spot on the Horizon League 2006 Fall Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on January 24th.

The women's cross country/track and field team led the way for UIC with five honorees, followed by four representatives from the men's soccer, men's swimming and diving and women's swimming and diving teams.

The baseball, women's basketball, women's tennis and men's cross country/track and field teams each had three honorees, while the softball and volleyball teams each turned in two honor roll student-athletes. Men's tennis rounded out the UIC contingent with one.

Candidates for the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify. The student-athletes must participate in at least one of the League's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season; complete three semesters as a full-time student at the same member institution; and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.00 scale as of December 31, 2006.
