Chicago, Ill. - The UIC Athletic Department welcomed over 300 supporters to the UIC Forum on Friday, January 16 for a night of rekindling old friendships and reliving great memories as the Flames inducted six new Hall of Fame members at the 2009 Reunion and Hall of Fame Banquet.

The night's festivities included a sumptuous meal from Beyond Events catering and words from Athletic Director Jim Schmidt and UIC Athletic Alumni Club Vice President Deb Fox, before the introductions of the latest class of Hall of Fame members.

Former football great Fred Espinoza (1958-61) was unable to be attendance, but his presence was felt and his impact on the UIC community retold through a stirring speech from friend John Rutkoswki.

UIC then welcomed former wrestling All-American Joe Siprut (1969-72), women's basketball and track and field star Sharon Carroll Poston (1976-80), softball All-American Stefanie Christoferson (1998-2001), women's tennis standout Nicole (Derouin) Livingston and former head men's basketball coach Bob Hallberg (1987-96) into the Hall of Fame.
