HOME OF UIC GYMNASTICS

UIC's Physical Education Building is home to the nationally-ranked Flames' men's and women's gymnastics teams.

Located at 901 West Roosevelt Road, the Physical Education Building hosts numerous athletic events throughout the year, including the National Wheelchair Basketball Final Four, the Midwest Chinese Basketball Association and the Tohkon Judo Tournament. The facility was also recently featured on CBS's Early Edition, starring actor Kyle Chandler.

Each January, the UIC men's gymnastics team welcomes the top squads from across the country to the Physical Education Building for its Windy City Invitational with past competitors including U.S. National Team members Ron Galimore, Jim Hartung, Phil Cahoy, Scott Johnson and Charles Lake. Additionally, four gymnasts at the 1996 Olympic Games were former Windy City competitors - John Roethlisberger, Kip Simons and Blaine Wilson of the USA and UIC alum Barry McDonald of Ireland. The UIC women's squad has also hosted the area's elite gymnasts at the State of Illinois Classic in the P.E. Building.

Constructed in 1968, the Physical Education Building features seating for over 1,000 spectators and has a sound system, making it easy for fans to follow along with the action.
