HOME OF UIC FLAMES SOCCER

The home of UIC soccer, Flames Field opened during the fall of 1996 and is one of the finest collegiate soccer fields in the Chicagoland area.

Designed and build specifically for varsity soccer, the natural grass field sits on the south end of the UIC campus, behind the Physical Education Building.

The soccer complex features a regulation-size field, permanent bleacher seating for 1,000 fans, a concession stand, an electronic scoreboard, a public address system and press box as well as a spectacular view of downtown Chicago and its beautiful skyline.

Some new touches have been added to Flames Field. Lights were installed at the field in 2006 so the Flames could play night games for the first time in history. Seats were added, flags representing the nations of origin of every Flames player were raised above the bleachers, and a fence was wrapped around the pitch to create a more stadium-like soccer setting.

Flames Field is part of a $9 million complex which also includes baseball and softball stadiums, tennis courts, four intramural multi-purpose fields, four sand volleyball courts and a lighted 7/8-mile jogging path around the complex.
