    UIC closed out regular season competition with a win over Youngstown State. The Flames defeated the Penguins 4-3 at the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts. Prior to the matches, UIC recognized seniors Alexander Raa and Alan Reifer.

    Former Flame Courtney Heeley Selected to Join USA Team Handball

    Former UIC softball player Courtney Heeley was recently chosen to be a part of USA Team Handball following the Women's Residency Program tryouts at Auburn University's Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum in Auburn, Ala. Heeley was selected among 14 athletes in attendance and is the only known former UIC student-athlete to compete with USA Team Handball.

    Men's Soccer Unveils 2014 Schedule

    UIC head men's soccer coach Sean Phillips announced the release of the Flames' 2014 schedule on Tuesday. UIC will host a total of 10 matches at Flames Field, including exhibitions against Saint Louis and Bradley, and is set to take on six 2013 NCAA Tournament participants.

    Top Flames Moment: Gaides Sixth in All-Around at NCAA Qualifier

    Gaides finished with a final score of 81.800 in All-Around competition at the NCAA Qualifier, earning a sixth-place finish. He scored a 14.000 on floor exercise and was UIC's best score on parallel bars with a 12.600. Gaides also received a score of 13.750 on rings.

    UIC Basketball Adds Fifth-Year Transfer Jay Harris from Wagner

    UIC Head Basketball Coach Howard Moore announced the addition of Jay Harris to the Flames' 2014-15 roster on Thursday afternoon. Harris, a fifth-year transfer student from Wagner, has immediate eligibility and will attend graduate school at UIC for his final collegiate season.

    Curtis Granderson Holds All-Star Youth Event at UIC

    While most Major League Baseball players used the All-Star break to relax, UIC Hall-of-Famer and current New York Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson took advantage of the free time to host his Grand Kids Foundation All-Star Camp on Wednesday afternoon. More than 100 little leaguers participated in the event which was housed at the newly constructed Curtis Granderson Stadium on the campus of UIC.
